how to map grid variables for source and Target table when source table count is less then target

Hi team,

We need to load data from source to target using grid variables where Source table has less column then target , the column which is missing in target table will be updated on run time, I am trying to use mapping of grid variables in transformation using table input/output components but it is failing with the column mismatch. Can you please suggest any workaround in this case.

regards
Ravi

Hi Ravi,

  1. In the parent orchestration you can use one of the metadata to grid components to populate 2 grid variables, source and target.
  2. Then add an append to grid component that appends the extra column to the target grid variable.
  3. In the transformation job use a table input component with a grid variable for the list of source columns using the source grid.
  4. Add a calculator component to generate the values of the new column, be sure to name the column the same as used in the append to grid (use a scalar variable)
  5. In the table update component use a grid containing the target column names as both the the source and target columns.
