How to prompt user for runtime parameters?

We want to use Matillion to fill in a table for financial forecasting and analysis. Controllers want to manually start the ETL job and specify which period and version to select. What would be the best way of building such a user interaction?
We can use environment variables in the filter conditions, and ask the controllers to change the value of those environment variables before running. However, that's not really convenient for the user. Ideally we'd have some kind of prompt at starting the job.
I know Matillion is not a query and reporting tool, but in this particular case, building this data set with Matillion seems to be the best way of meeting user needs.

Hi Arto,

At this time there is no option for user interaction with the ETL Job in the tool. However you can create the custom HTML page that would take the Input parameter
from the Custom HTML page and create a curl command (REST API) with those input parameters to trigger the job.
e.g.
curl -X POST “http://10.12.2.229/rest/v0/tasks?groupName=Matillion&projectName=Marketplace%20Data%20Warehouse&versionName=BW_21-7-2016&environmentName=Live&jobName=Load%20Marketplace%20Data”

Best Regards
Harpreet
