Elastic Load Balancing

Hi.
Do you have a set-up guide for using Elastic Load Balancing?

Regards.

Hi Johan,

We don’t have such a guide at the moment, because there is no “high availability” option yet. When you run Matillion, you currently just launch one single instance.

High Availability is in the development pipeline, and will be released in the future, although I’m not certain of the exact timeline. Once that feature is available, we will look at formally documenting Elastic Load Balancing and Auto Scaling.

Best regards,
Ian

Hi Ian. That sounds very interesting. Just a question, could autoscaling potentially be used to increase/decrease the number of concurrent users, environments and active threads automatically? That would open up for new ways of thinking regarding licensing and needed hardware. Will be very exciting to see how that develops.

Hi Johan,

Yes, there are a number of possibilities and considerations with this architectural change! The features and mechanisms have not been finalised yet, but will be announced when they become available – both in the technical documentation and in the new feature announcements

Best regards,
Ian

I have one more question regarding elastic load balancing. I am using a route 53 dns with an attached load balancer to connect to matillion. I can get to the login window and access the admin page. But when i try to login i get a page saying "Connection Failed.
Unfortunately an error occurred establishing a websocket connection,
please consult our help page for further assistance."

What should i do i get around this?

Hi Johan,

Post login, matillion uses a websocket connection for all interactions on the UI. Its possible the load balancer is not allowing websocket connections as it may be dropping some headers.

Please read more about it using the link below and see of the suggestion to use TCP instead of HTTP helps.
